Sat tat nae Treasury Department Administration Administration oversees and directs all Treasury functions, including budgeting, accounting, financial planning, customer services, computer services and records management. Customer Services Division Customer services is reponsible for providing daily service to the public and is responsible for billing, collection and processing of tax, utility and miscellaneous revenues. The department is also responsible for maintenance of the property information master files on the computer system. Purchasing Division The Purchasing Division is responsible for the procurement of needed supplies and services in a timely manner to support operational requirements of city departrnents. The city stores also comes under the direction of the Purchasing division and is charged with receiving, inspecting, warehousing and distributing supplies ordered by the City. The Purchasing Division administers the city’s insurance program. Finance Division The Finance Division is comprised of three sections each of which provide specialized financial services for the City. The financial section is primarily responsible for supervision of the payroll and accounting sections, the preparation of year end financial statements, the co-ordination and preparation of audit working papers, balancing financial records, the preparation of annual reports to the province, monitoring of capital works and claiming provincial grants, and the administration of the City’s investment program. The payroli section which is responsible for the weekly preparation of employee payroll and contract related liabilities, balanc.ng of payroll records, reporting and remitting employee deductions, union contract interpretation as well as other clerical functions.
