Current situation

The Committee reviewed the present petition and agreed that
no action would be taken. The present landscaping provides
an attractive area on the highway. The plantings also
provide a safety area between vehicles travelling in
opposite directione.

There are no funds in the 1991 Parks & Recreation
Department budget to remove trees or do any kind of
replanting, along the Lougheed Highway median.

It should also be noted that the majority of businesses
came into Port Coquitlam after the landscaped area, along
the highway, was in place. .
