August 29, 1988/210 A Public Hearing pursuant to Section 956 of the Municipal Act was held prior to the Council meeting of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam in the "Campbell Room", Best Western PoCo Moter Inn, 1545 Lougheed Highway, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, August 29, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and R.H. Talbot in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator, B.R. Kirk, City Clark/Deputy City Administrator R.A. Freeman, Director of Community Planning, W.A. Brown. ZONING PUBLIC HEARING: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised the following proposed Bylaw would now be considered: Bylaw No. 2387: to rezone That area of Lot 19 Southwest Quarter of Section 6 Township 40 Plan 4318 New Westminster District As shown on Schedule "A" of the Bylaw to be zoned RS-3 From A-l (Agricultural) to RS-3 (Estate Residential) This property is located at 690 Prairie Avenue and the proposed Bylaw would permit the subdivision of the property. Mrs. Sylvia Osberg, 3156 Raleigh Street, advised of her opposition to the Bylaw and stated that the property should remain in the A-1l Zone to preserve agricultural land and she stated her opinion that this application may lead to further applications fer change from the A-1 Zoning designation. Mr. S. Kovacic, owner of property at 3515 Devon Avenue, advised that he was in favour of the Rezoning proposed and a co-owner of that property, Mr. Peter Dudulec stated that in his opinion much of the property in that area was not actually required as farm land. Mr. L. Pillon, 493 Prairie Avenue, inquired concerning the policy of the Agricuitural Land Commission that permitted the making of the subdivision that would be facilitated bk this Bylaw.
