Carried. From the Planning Cfficer, October 21st, 1977 recommending the Planning Of€. Oct. 21/77 proposal for a Neighbourhood Pub at 1510 - 1512 Pitt River Road, be re Neighbrhd. Pub ~ 1510-12 rejected. Pitt River Rd. Prior to Council's vote on the Neighbourhood Pub proposal at 1510 ~ 1512 Pitt River Road, Mr. Bill Rudy, the developer, withdrew his application. Mr. Rudy expressed thanks to the City for their help with his proposal. Alderman Mabbett asked Mr. Rudy if he was aware of a petition now being carried out from door to door with respect to a different neighbourhood pub proposal. Mr. Rudy advised the petition was his and he was carrying out this petition for another proposal to gat people's opinion before he came to Council and the City for approval. Alderman Ranger advised he was not in favour of this method of procedure. From the City Administrator, October 21st, 1977 advising the City City Admin. Oct. 21/77 re has approximately $5,000.00 in surplus funds from an old School Construction Surplus By-law Funds. By-law and advising these funds must be used for either the original purpose for which it was borrowed, or for a similar use. It has been suggested we might use these funds for construction of a sidewalk on the East Side of Hastings Street next to Westwood Elementary School. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman shompson: That the Provincial Government be contacted for approval to use the Surplus Funds from 1949 School Construction By-law for the construction of a sidewalk on the East side of Hastings Street next to Westwood Elementary School. AND THAT the City Clerk be instructed to prepare the necessary amending By-law to the 1949 School Construction By-law. Carried. Alderman Keryluk spoke in favour of the resolution. City Eng.
