June 9th, 1975 /9, organizations outside the City are rejected in keeping with Council's policy, requests from local organizations are always submitted to Council for consid- eration. Alderman Ranger pointed out that the Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association is given financial assistance by the City to run its programme, and stated he could see the PoCoMo Boys & Girls Club coming under the same policy. Alderman Ranger then vacated his chair and left the Council Chamber after which the following motioa was proposed: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the request of the PoCoMo Boys & Girls Club for a grant-in-aid be tabled for consideration at a forthcomine meeting when all members of Council are present. Carried. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution a dis- cussion ensued and Alderman Laking inquired whether the intent was to take & look at the whole policy on grants, and Alderman Keryluk advised he had intended to recommend under New Business later this evening that the Finance Committee study the grant policy as he felt the Council could be shackling itself to a system that may not be entirely satisfactory. Alderman Ranger then returned to the Council Chamber and resumed his place. From the City Administrator, June 6th, 1975, referring to a two-year City Adm.re lease of lease approved in 1974 of the joint City~District Justice Building court Court Facil- ities—Joint facilities to the Provincial Government for a rental rate of $44,000.00 in City-Dist. Justice Bldg. 1975 and $46,000.00 in 1976, and advising that copies of a formal lease document between the Province and the Municipalities have now been received following a delay due to further negotiations between the Province and Coquitlam with regard to the payment of property taxes or a grant in lieu thereof, on the structure. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the Lease Document between the District of Coquitlam and The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, jointly and the Province of British Columbia for court facilities at the Justice Building, as submitted with a report from the City Administrator, June 6th, 1975, be approved; AND THAT His Worship the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the said document on behalf of the City and affix the Corporate Seal thereto.
