Terrace’s Carey Bogart, John James and Richard Stone team won the first aid component. They used their skills learned on Shames’ steep slopes to place second in the toboggan handling race. And Richard Stone was the race.’s overall fastest skier to give Shames the first overall title. A second team of Dave Bicke, Teresa Graup and Mike Sorensen also com- peted at Purdon Mountain, but did not place in the tap three. Strymeki and Art Erasmus helped judge the competi- tion, .
