Gravity locator a first for B.C.

Four B.C. chiroprac-
tors and a UBC engineer
have teamed up to build
western Canada’s first
Center of Gravity
Locator.

Using a platform and
a small computer, the
machine measures how a
person stands and
locates the center of
gravity within the body,
said Terrace chiroprac-
tor Dale Greenwood.
This will help chiroprac-
tors in their search for
spinal irregularities.

“The body actually
stands on four points,
the heel and ball of each
foot,” explained one of
the inventors, Dr. Dave
Decamillis D.C., of New
Westminster,

‘*The platform
registers the load at each
of the quadrants, and a
computer locates the
center, If that is not
where it should be, an
image on a screen gives
the chiropractor a lead in
where to look for the
problem," he said.
