THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM MAY 44 1984 TO: B. Kirk, May 10, 1984 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters., P. Eng., City Engineer “SUBJECT: Parking Restrictions in 2200 Block Pitt River Road - Works and Services Committee, May 8th, 1984 RECOMMENDATION: That No Parking At Any Time restrictions be implemented on the south side of Pitt River Road from Irvine Avenue east to the west property line of 2238 Pitt River Road and from the west property line of 2206 Pitt River Road to Mary Hill Road. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: The completion of the apartment block on the north side of Pitt River Road has resulted in considerable parking on both sides of Pitt River Road in the 2200 block. The south side of Pitt River Road is restricted for parking from irvine Avenue west to Shaughnessy Stree+. Irvine Avenue is located at a bond in Pitt River Road and this bend is such that visibility to the east of Irvine is very poor for vehicles exiting from the driveway of 2244 Pitt River Road. For safety reasons, the existing restrictions should be extended to the west property tine of 2238 Pitt River Road. With the traffic signa! at Mary Hill Road there is often a backup from the intersection along Pitt River Road. Right turning traftic is able to bypass this backup if there are no cars parked along the curb. Therefore the Committee recommends that parking be restricted from the west property line of 2206 Pitt River Road to Mary Hi!!l Road to alltow this portion of road to remain clear of parking. & 3 F.E.
