The following motion was then proposed: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That Section 5 of the draft Pigeons and Doves Regulation By-law be amended by inserting the words and figures "5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m™., except when returning from a race or distant exercise" between the words “of and “of" where they appear thereon. Carried. Aldermen Keryluk, Laking and Mabbett voted against the resolution. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That Section 6(a) of the draft Pigeons and Doves Regulation By-law be amended by deleting all the words and figures after the word "exceed" and where it appears therein and inserting the words and figures "a maximum of thirty (30) adult birds." Carried. Aldermen Keryluk, Laking and Mabbett voted against the resolution. Mr. DeVries then referred to Section 6(d), and stated that the 3 square foot floor area required for each bird was to great a space for proper control, and the following motion was then proposed: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That Section 6(d) of the draft Pigeons and Doves Regulation By-law be amended by inserting the word "maximum’ between the words "a" and "floor" where they appear in the second line thereof, Carried. Aldermen Keryluk, Laking and Mabbett voted against the resolution. The question was then calied on the original motion of Aldermen Ranger and Thompson, as amended: “That the draft Pigeons and Doves Regulation By-law, as amended By-law not approved this evening, be approved for processing to Council, and that the necessary amendments be made to the Animal Control and Zoning By-laws to coincide therewith." Defeated. Aldermen Ranger, Thompson and Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution.
