The Parks and Recreation Committee have reviewed admission rates for skating from different areas in the Lower Mainland (See attached report). The Conmittee feels at this time an increase is not necessary as public skating is well attended and is generating more revenue ~er hour than other uses, (Attend- ance record attached), Recommendation: The Parks and Recreation Committee recommend that we retain the 1972-73 admission rates, ITEM II School Skating Rates (See report attached). Comments: The Committee feels that the rental rate of .20ยข admission.should be changed; due to the fact that this rate at times wae unfair. There were times when schools would book only for one hour, and other times for two hours. Therefore, the Committee felt that an hourly rate was fairer. The Committee also discussed skate rental rates and wish to increase these to the same price ae they are for public admissions. The reason for this being that the wear and tear cn skates is very hard and they require a lot of upkeep, 6eg., sharpening, laces and cleaning of bects.
