i t 4 { ' ! [ i if i i ' i | j ; } | } j i i } i i f i ‘ i LOUNC MEMO TO: Mayor & Aldermen . April 14th, 1977 APR 18 1977 FROM: R.A. Freeman, City Clerk Re: Applications for Neighbourhood Pubs . As members of Council are undoubtedly aware, the Provincial Government has now lifted the moratorium on the establishment of Neighbourhood Pubs and quite a bit of interest is being evidenced in the Coast Meridian Road-Prairie Avenue area. In point of fact, two formal applications:have been received; one for permission to operate at 3274 Coast Meridian Road and this location is on the East side of Coast Meridian Road directly opposite the present Overwaitea Store. ‘The second application is for permission to operate in the shopping centre to be constructed at the South-east corner of Coast Meridian Road and Prairie Avenue. In point of fact, the developer advises me that he has received at least six requests concerning the establishment of a neighbourhood pub in this new shopping centre, but he has not yet had time to consider whether this facility would be an asset to the shopping centre or not. This matter is placed before Council at this time to determine: (a) I£ Council wishes to approve 3274 Coast Meridian Road as the site of a neighbourhood pub; or (b) The Council wishes to approve the new shopping centre development the South-east corner of Coast Meridian Road and Prairie Avenue as the site a neighbourhood pub; or (c) The Council wishes to spend more time considering the matter, perhaps through a reference to a Council Committee. A copy of the Provincial regulations respecting the establishment Neighbourhood Pubs is attached for Council's information. /ba city Clerk attachment
