Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Aldermen Laking: That as recommended in a report from the Planning & Zoning Committee, May 23rd, 1975, Application R#4/75 to rezone a 7.0 acre parcel at Taylor and Pooley Streets, legally described as Lot 115, District Lots 255 & 384, Group One, Plan 47284, from RS-2 (One-Family Suburban Residential) to RS-1 (One-Family Residential), be approved; SUBJECT to approval of subdivision design and servicing requirements by the Approving Officer. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: re property tex as income tax ded§& Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the resolution passed at the regular Council meeting of May Sth, 1975, with respect to petitioning the appropriate Department of the Federal Government to have property taxes as an Income Tax deduction, be rescinded; AND THAT the following resolution be forwarded to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities for presentation to the September, 1975 Convention: "That the Government of Canada be requested to amend the appropriate Statute in order that up to $500.00 may be deducted from taxable income on account of property taxes paid on a taxpayer's principal dwelling."
