That. the foregoing proposed resolution be tabled for two weeks pending
receipt of reports concerning the view of local businessmen with respect te
the present policing operation in the Commercial areas of the City, and also

on the. drug situation. | Carried.
Aldermen Ranger, Mabbett, and Traboulay voted against the resolution.

‘His Worship the Mayor advised he would also obtain information as to.
the number of palice manpower being retaiaed by the District of Coquitlam in
relation to populaticn.

of Miss J.K. revision in the job description for Parks and Recreation Director after

reviewing the organizational structure and the previous position established,

“which would merely bring it into line with tha present organization that has

the Parks maintenance operation under: the jurisdiction of the Engineering,
Department. . The City Administrator, in his report, further recommended that
Miss Johanna Kathleen Taylor, the present Recreation Programme Supervisor,

be appointed to the position of Recreation Director.

. That as set forth -in & report from the City Administrator, January
26th, 1973, the following recommendations be approved:
I. That the Parks aud Recreation Director's position be revised with the
area of responsibility being chiefly related to the recreation function in-
cluding the supervision of the Recreation Centre;
2. That the present arrangements with parks maintenance operating under
the Engineering Department be retained;
3. That Miss Johanne Kathleen Taylor be and she is hereby appointed to
the position of Recreation Director for The Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam under the terms of the redefined job description therefor as

. Stated in Item 1 above. Carried.

Ris Worship the Mayor congratulated Miss Taylor on her new appointment

and wished her the very best of luck in beth @ most interesting, but also
