Function Dear Sir: On Decerber 3, 1971 I sent you a number of copies of the amended Policy Statement which was adopted by the Regional Board at its November 17 y 1971. meeting. At that time, I also steted that we were preparing to initiate negotiations with the Provincial Governzent for the purpose of wor'cing out, a satisfactory financial formula. To date, preliminary meetings have been held with the Honourable Dan Campbell and the Honourable W.K.Kiernan. It-is also planned to have an exploratory discussion with B.C. Hydro officials within the next few days. However, before entering into lengthy negotiations which wisl lead to a total financiel formule, it is deemed advisable, in accordance with the first step described on Page 7 of the amended Policy Statement, to ask each member mnicinality whether it is prevared to accept the amended Policy Statement and is prepared to participate in a Regional Transportetion Function, subject to terms and conditions to be developed. Now that your Council has had an opportunity to consider this District’s report on Regional Transportation es a C.V.R.D. Finction, including the amended Policy Statement, I should appreciate it, if you will advise me if your Council is prepared to agree in principle to participate in a Regional Transportation Function, subject to terms and conditions which will be developed and brougat back to the Board and the individuel member municipalities for ratification.
