A noisy two-minute standing ovation at the beginning of the game sent the Jets out flying and it took just one minute and 29 seconds before Hull put them on the scoreboard. n With Cloutier off for inter- ferrence, Winnipes defenceman Mike For knocked J. C. Tremblay off the puck at centre ice and sent Ulf Nilsson and Hull away. ‘Nilsson made_ the perfect pass for Hull to ect into the net. But Cloutier came out of the penalty box and redeemed himself with ‘his 12th and 13th goals of the playoffs to tie a WHA record and put Quebec ahead 2-1. Cloutier cut across in front of the net and rifled a shot along the ice behind Winnipeg goaltender Joe Daley at 3:02, He then redirected Tardif's pass on a three-man break at 4:28. The Jets came back with three straight goals and that drove the capacity crowd of 10,-59 into a frenzy. Labraaten deflected Peter Sullivan’s goalmouth pass at 9:17 and the Jeta then, victimized Tremblay for the next two goals at 12:00 and 13:47.
