Chong DATE: August 4, 1994 City Administrator FROM: ILR. Zahynacz, P. Eng., City Engineer _ SUBJECT: PARKING REGULATION CHANGES - KINGSWAY, WESTWOOD TO THE COQUITLAM RIVER (Pablic Weeks Committee Mecting of July 19, 1994) That Council direct the City Clerk to amend the City Traffic Control Bylaw #1117 to include the following parking restrictions: 1) Kingsway Avenue from Westwood to Burleiyh and from Gately to the Coquitlam River - "No Stopping At Anytime". 2) Kingsway Avenue from Burleigh to Gately - " 1 Hour Parking between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm plus parking prohibited between 7:00 am to 9:00 am and between 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Kingsway Avenue has been reconstructed and is now a major arterial read with high traffic volumes, through out the day. Upon reviewing the parking requirements in the area it is recommended that stopping be prohibited at all times on Kingsway between Westwood and Burleigh and between Gately and the Coquitlam River because the full foad width is required to carry the traffic volume and because there’ is a curve in the road and a narrower pavement width on Kingsway between Gately and the Coquitlam River. Also, due to the traffic volume and the commercial businesses in the area, it is recommended. that 1 hour parking be permitted between 9:00 arm and 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday and that parking be prohibited during the rush hour periods of 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:00 es i - ll LR.
