BACKGROUND : The Planning Department of the District of Coquitlam has referred the ._ referenced rezoning application to permit a 66.8 acres, 18 hole executive golf course, to the City of Port Coquitlam for comments. . ar DISCUSSION: A golf course ia a permissible use within the Agricultural Land Reserve. The location of the proposed facility is attractive in that it is close te areas that will fully develop with urban residential densities. ‘However, road access to this general area is limited. Residents of the District must now use the City of Port Coquitlam road system to access ~ Lougheed Highway and other areas of Coquitlam. a : The existing local coliector roads are insuffiencient to accommodate the. growth of this area of Cogquitiam; Fremont Road will be developed eventually as —. a control access arterial with financing, at least in part, by the Ministry of Transportation and Highways. . | _ | os
