Fire Chief - means a person appointed from time to time by the Council to be
in charge of the Fire Department and the fire fighting personnel of the City,
and includes a Deputy Fire Chief and any other person authorized to act on
behalf of the Fire Chief.

Fire Fighter - mean every member of the fire department of the City, other
than an Officer, whose duties include fire prevention, fire suppression or
emergency response.

Fire Code - means the National Fire Code of Canada - 1985, as amended or
replaced from time to time.

Fire Prevention Officer ~ means a member of the Fire Department of the City
asSigned to the Fire Prevention Branch and authorized in writing by the Fire
Chief to be a Local Assistant Fire Commissioner.

Flammable Liquid - means any liquid having a flash point below 37.8 degrees
celsius and having « vapour pressure not exceeding 275.8 kPa (absolute) at
37.8 degrees celsius. :

Garage - means a building, or any portion of any place or premises used asa
place of business for the purpose of maintaining, fueling, keeping, repairing

or demolishing motor vehicles.

Garbage - means all household and commercial waste, other than Construction
Waste and Trade Waste. Oo . .

Cas Station - means any portion of any place or premises in or upon: which.
gasoline is kept for sale. on

Officer - includes the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chiefs, Fire Prevention Officer
and every member of the fire department of the City designated as an officer

Private Dwelling - means. any building used exclusively as a private residence

- Trade.Waste - means waste and abandoned. materials resulting from the operation
of an industry or business including papcr, boxes, packing cases, wrapping.
-material, sweepings, and all flammable materials of a like nature other than
