Gis 4 3. Proposed Sanitary Works in order to provide sanitary service to all these future developments, certain work needs to be done to improve the capacity of the present sanitary system. Upon analysing the system, it was found that the sewers leading into the pump station and the force main leading out of the pump station are both adequate to service the future developments. Work required to upgrade the system includes a new pump station and an extension of the. existing sewer from Manhole 16A-6 southwards to Lobb Avenue to provide a common discharge point to all future developments (see attached Figure 2). The new pump station would consist of two 19 HP submersible pumps housed In a chamber 2.4 m square x 11 m deep. For emergency storage, another similar interconnecting chamber needs to be built to provide the necessary emergency detention time. 50 m of 200 mm sewer together with two manholes would also need to be buiit. Cost of Works Estimated cost of the proposed works in 1987 dollars are worked out as follows: Pumo Station Precast concrete chambers Mechanical Sales tax Civil works $118,105 Sanitary Sewer Sewer Manholes Soil investigation Contingencies 154
