CONVENTION FORMAT During the 1979 U.B.C.li, Convention in Vancouver, the delegates gave the U.B.C.M, Executive a general mandate to examine the handling of resolu- tions during a Convention and to recommend appropriate amendments to the U.B.C.M,. by-laws during the 1980 Convention so that a more. suitable system can be implemented at that time. U.B.C, M. President Mayor Charles Lakes has now appointed a Committee’ to review the present method of handling resolutions, the general organiza- tion and content of the annual Convention and the system whereby members provide for their next Executive members to be elected at large or ap~ pointed by the five Area Associations and the City of Vancouver. . In order that this special Committee may have the benefit of opinions and advice from all U.B.C.M. members, it would be greatly appreciated if your Council or Board would advise what changes you would like to see introduced, especially with regard to the handling of resolutions. : Any comments which wou wish to submit will be of value to the Committee and will enable them to determine appropriate changes.
