eke ASTRA OUNCI. AUG 14 1978 August 10, 1978 Mayor and Council Leisure Activities Committee Item 1 WESTWOOD PARK The Leisure Activities Committee has discussed the problem of clearing that was done on the west side of the tennis courts at Westwood Park; and wishes to make the following recommendations to Council: 1. That a row-of evergreens be planted on the west side of the tennis courts in the fall and furthermore, to plant locust bushes west of the tennis courts. ‘This will provide a buffer area between the homes and the tennis courts. That the low part south of the Tennis Courts where the ditch is, be cleaned out immediately due to the possibility of the dry material in the ditch catching fire. That grass be planted in the cleared area around the tennis courts. To put in the posts along the border of the park. That grass be planted in the area south-east of the tennis courts and also a cedar hedge be planted near the home that is adjacent to the park. 6. That the existing trails be upgraded. ' The committee feels that the above minimal work will leave the park a fairly natural state. Respectfully submitted: Recreation Director KJT/mjl...
