From the Public Works Committee, June 9th, 1978 recommending the PWC, June 9/78 _. re 8-inch water- allocation of $20,000.00 from the future capital expenditure reserve to main on Whyte Av.: Tabled-1 week. allow the construction of a 8-inch watermain on Whyte Avenue between Shaughnessy Street and the 24-inch diameter main near the Coquitlam River. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, June 9th, 1978 $20,000.00 be allocated from the future capital expenditure reserve to allow the construction of a 8-inch watermain on Whyte Avenue between Shaughnessy Street and the 24-inch diameter main near the Coquitlam River. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution discussion ensued on the need for a larger water service in the downtown area and the Piper Report recommendations. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the recommendation of the Public Works Committee, June 9th, 1978 te allocate $20,000.00 from the future capital expenditure reserve to allow the construction of a 8-inch watermain on Whyte Avenue be tabled for one week to allow Council to study the material presently available from the "Piper Report". Carried. From the City Engineer, June 8th, 1978 recommending that the architect City Eng., June provide the inspection services for the Senior Citizens Extension amounting 8/78 re Sr. Cit.Exten.- to a cost of $4,500.00 more than the upset fee in the initial agreement Inspect. Services and that the City Public Works Inspector and Building Inspector do the necessary field inspections. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended by the City Engineer, Jure 8th, 1978 the architect provide the inspection services for the Senior Citizens Extension amounting to a cost of $4,500.00 more than the upset fee in the initial agreement; THAT the City Public Works Inspector and Building Inspector do the necessary monitoring of the construction as required; AND THAT the necessary agreement with Carlberg Jackson Partners be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the same on behalf of the City and affix the Corporate Seal thereto.
