BY-LAW NO. 1332

A By-law to amend the "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117".

WHEREAS pursuant to Sections 125 and 199 of the "Motor Vehicle Act",
being Chapter 39 of the 1957 Statutes of the Province of British Columbia, and
amendments thereto, the Council of a Municipality may by by~law prohibit the
use of or presence on a designated highway or highways by any designated vehicle,
or type or species thereof, either at all times or at designated times and may
classify vehicles according to their nature, type, character, weight, equipment,
accessories, or otherwise, and may make different provisions for the different
classes so established;

NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of

Port Coquitlam, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:

i. The "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117" is amended by repealing

“Sections 601, 602, 602A, 603, 604, 605, and 606 and substituting therefor the

following:
"601. For the purposes of this division,
(a) “highway” does not include an arterial highway as defined by
_ the Highway Act; and
(b) "Local service cali" means the using or permitting the presence
of a vehicle upon the highway for the Purpose of delivering to: '
or collecting from a specific premise or premises within the

City . fuel, consumer goods, building materials, or other

materials or articles of commerce,

the following classes of vehicles are hereby established:
i. Class 1 Vehicle - a motor vehicle licenced under the’
Motor Vehicle Act or Department of Commercial Transport
Act for a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less.
Class 2 Vehicle - a motor vehicle licenced under the
Motor Vehicle Act or Department of Commercial Transport
Act for a gy-ss vehicle weight of more than 10,000 pounds
that 4s not required to display a municipal licence plate
issued in accordance with the provisions of Division (2)
of Part X of the Municipal Act and By~law No. 770 of The

Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam being the "City

of Port Coquitlam Commercial Vehicle Licencing By~law, 1964",
