October 28th, 1974 that Mr. G.H. Horner of Lincoln Projects Ltd., the company involved in the Land Use Contract under which the Shaughnessy Mall was developed, was unable to be in attendance and had requested that the matter be deferred until after the forthcoming November elections, and to this the Council generally agreed. Ald.Mabbett - Alderman Mabbett referred to a memorandum dated October 25th, 1974 Bldg.& Protection Com.report re from the Building & Protection Committee, concerning the purchase of a fire truck - deferred to Pumper Fire Truck for the North Side Fire Hall, and requested that the Nov.4/74 meeting item be deferred until the November 4th, 1974 Council meeting as a problem had been encountered with respect to delivery of the unit. Members of Council generally agreed that the memorandum from the Building & Protection Committee be held over as requested. DELEGATIONS: W.Foster re From Mr. W. Foster, September 27th, 1974, requesting the removal of tree removal two laxge trees on the South side adjoining his property at 3247 Liverpool Street due to problems being encountered such as pods from the trees plugging the rain gutters of his house, a pitch nuisance from the pods, and branches overlapping his property, particularly his carport and sundeck. His Worship the Mayor stated he understood Mr. Foster was to have been in attendance this evening; however it was evident he was not present and the following resolution was proposed: Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the request stated by Mr. W. Foster in his letter dated September 27th, 1974, for removal of two large trees on the South side adjoining his property at 3247 Liverpool Street, be denied. Defeated. Alderman Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution. Prior to defeat of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Traboulay advised he had made an on-site inspection of the trees in question, which he mentioned take years to grow, and suggested that a solution to the problem would be to limb the trees; however, Alderman Ranger advised that on inspecting Mr. Foster's home, he had noted that the eves were completely blocked with leaves and the sundeck obliterated with them, and he stated he felt the trees should be removed.
