TO: Mayor and Council DATE: February 25, 1974 FROM: L.D. Pollock, City Administrator RE: Sewer Rates The sewer rates by-law is in the agenda for tonight's meeting for consideration. If you will refer to the charges for residential users you will note that we have maintained a differential between residential properties where the sewer : was installed by a developer. These charges show $6.00 per month and $4.50 i per month respectively. These rates should probably have been set at $6.00 and $4.00 in view of the fact that the increase reflected in this by-law have been applied more heavily on a subdivider installed main, for example, a residential rate has increased by 20% whereas the rate for a subdivider installed main has increased by 50% ($3.00 per month to $4.50 per month). : I believe it was the intention of Council In Committee to apply $1.00 per month on each of these categories of properties and Council may wish to revise the rate for a subdivider installed main to $4.00 per month rather than the $4.50 shown in the by-law.
