TO: Mayer & Aldermen August 30th, 1972 FROM: Alderman P.F. Ranger G ar | A G SEP 11 1072 I would like to raise a point with regard to a resolution that was passed in my absence at ‘the keguler Council meeting of Auguat léth. The resolution approved the Payment of $45.00 per day for expenses of Aldermen attending the U.B.C.M. Convention in Vancouver. The point 4s, that since the Convention ig being held in Vancouver this year it is possible for Aldermen. to commute, therefore hotel room ‘expenses will not be iricurred, When 1 broached this subject with Council in Conmittee last week Council expressed the view that $45.00 per day was justified as this amount would help defray a loss in wages through attendance at the Convention. It has been my understanding that LE te the policy of Council to recoup lost. wages from an Alderman's annual indemnity. 1 would like Council to clarify this policy, Respectfully, Alderman Phil Ranger, weet Ee on abe eee! eee MUR Ee AA ible di ons i basttbEN AD she osmn
