November 8th, 1982. /4. Aldermen Gates, Laking and Muldoon voted against the resolution. Alderman G.R. Laking's November 5th, 1982 report regarding the Red Bridge was also discussed at this time and the Council generally agreed to support the City Engineer's recommendation. Mayor Traboulay asked the City Engineer to prepare a report for presentation to Council in two week's time. The City Engineer advised he had made an on-site inspection of the Bailey Bridge area and that there had been two C.P.R. trains, one of eight-minute duration and the other of five-minute duration, during rush hour from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Vater: That C.P. Rail be advised that there were two trains, one of eight-minute duration and one of five-minute duration, during the period between 4:15 and 5:15 on Monday, November 8th, 1982. Carried. Mayor Traboulay advised he will phone Mr. McAuley of C.P. Rail and advise him of the City's concerns regarding trains crossing Pitt Rive Road. From the City Engineer, November 3rd, 1982 regarding possible parking at the Marpole/Wilson Intersection. Moved by Alderman Lakina: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the park at the Southgate entrance to the City Center not be used as a parking lot. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, Alderman Mabbett asked that the City Engineer prepare a sketch of the possible parking at Marpole/Wilson Intersection with the costs involved. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That possible parking at the Marpole/Wilson Intersection be referred to the Public Works Committee for a sketch ond the costs involved. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, Alderman Muldoon suggested that the Dawntown Revitalization Committee be asked to comment on the possible parking as well.
