A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on April 21st, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking, Aldermen M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, L.M. Traboulay and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Assistant City Engineer L. Melnechenko, P. Eng., City Planner L. Lee, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Deputy Fire Chief J.N. Boileau, Recreation Director K..J. Taylor, Works & Utilities Superintendent G.W. Ulmer and Mrs. D.L. Vyse. Laking Introduced Mr. Frank Mulligan, operator Self-serve gas station - Mr. of the Raleigh Mohawk Service Station, 2649 Lougheed Highway and Mr. PF. Mulligan, Ralelgh Mohawk, J. Allen, Manager, Construction Department, Mohawk O11 Company. Mr. 2649 Lougheed. Allen then addressed Council regarding Mr. Mulligan's application for a self-serve gas station business Ulcence. Mr. Allen gave details of the procedure carried out by the Mohawk Of1 Company in obtaining permission from the City to convert a full service pos station to a self-serve gas station. Alderman Traboulay addressed Mr. Allen and asked for further clarification on the application whieh Mr. Allen was able to give. Mr. Mulligan then spoke on his behalf and explained he would keep his present employees and would have to hire one more to serve the publle and offer assistance to those who required it. Alderman KRervluk referred to the letter from Mr. T. Smith, Mohawk O11 Co. Ltd., January 28th, 1980 regarding the letter accompanying drawings to the Building Department for construction appreval and asked Mr. Allen for elardifieation on whether a self-serve conversion was discussed. Mr. Allen stated that although the letrer did not inelude the full Job title the drawings did in fact dnelude the details of the self-serve construction application.
