Young, RCMP re irres- 1976, concerning irresponsible driving habits, and advising that while Criminal ponsible driv- ing habits } Code charges (impaired driving, etc.) have increased from 241 to 287 over the first 9 months of 1976 compared to 1975, motor vehicle accidents have dropped from a total of 695 in 1975 to 580 in 1976. Comm,.-resolu- ; tion of : Burnaby re Prov.Fire~- fighters‘ College From the Building & Protection Committee, October 22nd, 1976, referring to the request from the District of Burnaby to establish a Provincial Firefighters' College, being one of the 37 recomnendations made in the Keenleyside Report, and recommending that as B.C. Fire Chiefs organizarion is not in agreement with Burnaby's resolution, the City of Port Coquitlam not endorse the same. Alderman Keryluk commented that at the time Burnaby's resolution was before the Council it was envisaged by some that a Provincial Firefighters’ College encompassed a new facility, which is not intended to be - instead it will be a programme which could be established at, say, B.C.I.T or Douglas College through the Attorney General's Department, to provide training for officers, prospective officers, and firefighters and the Committee felt that the B.C, Fire Chiefs Association is probably best quaiified to make recommendations for this programme.
