Carried - CLEAN-UP OF COQUITLAM RIVER ITEM 2 Gates advised the Committee of the events which took piece during the District Coquitiam Drainage Committee meeting held on Septemberof 30, He stated that the District's Drainage Committee was1985. in full support of Port Coquitlam's proposal to clean up the Coquitlam and to construct dykes along the river. In addition, theRiver District's Drainage Committee EE''lderman — wanted to have the following works added to th s proj act f a) f 1ood-proof ing of the Green Street Area i ' ' I b) rip-rapping and dredging of additional areas north of Lincoln Avenue. In it's recommendation to the District's Council, the Drainage Committee will suggest that in the event federal grants can not be obtained for the Consultant's study that funds be included in the 1986 Publ ic Works Budget to have the Study carried out inDistricts conjunction with the City. Alderman Gates el so adv ised the Committee that the minutes of .th e D str i ct s Committee Drainage w be forwarded to the Cit y for information and that they agree the concept of the City continuing to correspond with Mr.with St. Germaine, M.P. on this matter regarding funding assistance provided info copies of the correspondence are forwarded to the D stri ct. Chong advised the Commi ttee that Section of the Municipal Act does empower Medi ca Hea th Off i car's,693 obtaining a court order, to compel the owner of premisesafter where health hazard ex sts to do whatever is necessary to el iminatea such hazards. Chong briefed the Committee on the subsequent correspondence and meetings held with Record Chemicals, Ministry of Environment and the City after the August 25, 1985 sp which occured on that premise.
