Subject: Reeve Street Park - Soccer Field Construction

Recommendations,

1. That City Council approve the construction of a soccer field in Reeve Street park at an
estimated cost of $ 385,000.

2. That the monies for this field be taken fromm the following areas; $185,000 from Park
DCC interest and $200,000 from surplus funds.

‘This additional field is required because the new Riverside Secondary school is being built
adjacent to the park and the fields will be utilized by the school. A joint use agreement is
being developed with the school board for use of the soccer fields. These fields will also be
used by community groups. The building of this field has been moved up in the schedule; it
was orginally slated to be built in phase 2, which is still a few years away. The monies for
this field will come from two funding sotirces; Park DCC interest and the City's surplus
funds. The estirnated cost is $382,000 and we have allowed $3,000 for a contingency.

There is sufficient funds in the Park DCC
interestand City's Surplus Funds
