THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMO B. Kirk DATE: October 07, 1991 City Admunuistrator Audit Committee Funds for Riverfront Study The Mayor requested that the Audit Committee review the budget to determine if sufficient funds are available to do a study of the Riverfront. The Committee has reviewed the budget and has determined that sufficient funds are available ($40,000) to be reallocated from the Police budget to the Planning budget should Council determine that this project should proceed at this time. | The funds are available within the Police budget for two reasons: 1. The R.C.M.P. has been unable to supply the full compliment of members that have been requested. For the first six months of 1991 we have had approximately 37.5 members being supplied, we have budgeted for 40.5 members and actually have contracted with the R.C.M.P. for 42 members. This year there is a higher than normal discrepancy between contracted and supplied due to some illness and/or injuries. Staffing levels have increased in the second half of the year. To a minor extent the new R.C.M.P. tentative agreement did not increase costs as much as expected. We had budgeted for an increase in the local share continuing to increase by 1% per year, so our share was projected to increase from 90% of the cost to 91% of the cost. For this year there will be no increase other than inflation. :
