October 23rd, 1978. From the Community Development Committee, October 20th, 1978 advising Comm. Dev. of receipt of a letter from the City of Vancouver Economic Development Comm., Oct. 20/78 re Office asking for the City's views on the future of the Vancouver International Van. Inter. Airport. Airport and recommending that a letter of reply be sent to the City of Vancouver urging action on this particular matter. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended by the Community Development Committee, October 20th, 1978 a letter be sent to the City of Vancouver urging that action be taken to ensure the future of the Vancouver International Airport. Carried. From the Planning and Zoning Committee, Gctober 19th, 1978 recommending that the rezoning application, R#12-78, to rezone properties at 2610 and P & Z Comm., Oct. 19/78 re 2640 Mary Hill Road from RS-2 to C-4 for a commercial development proceed R#12-78 - 2610 & 2640 to Public Hearing. Mary Hill Rd. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Committee, October 19th, 1978 rezoning application, R#12-78, to rezone properties at 2610 and 2640 Mary Hill Road from RS-2'to C-4, proceed to Public Hearing. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution the City Planner explained the proposed development and advised the Planning and Zoning Committee recommends that Elgin Street road allowance be cancelled and that half of the road allowance be incorporated into the site in exchange for a corner of Lot A with the land area difference to be purchased by the developer.
