MEMORANDUM Mayor and Council February 13th, 1976 L.D. Pollock City Administrator Re: Arbitration - Hyde Creek Swimming Pool Budget I have circulated to Council, @ memo and copy of the Award of the Arbitrator in our Arbitration with School District No. 43 over the Hyde Creek Swimming Pool Operating Budget, Tt indicated in my memo that I felt the Award of the Arbitrator was fair and perhaps Council may wish to adopt a resolution accepting the Award of the Arbitrator. : In addition, on page 4 of the Arbitrator's Report, he recommends that as the School District is paying 50% of the operating costs of the pool, that they should perhaps have some say in the management policies and recommends that a Joint Committee be established between the City and the Board to discuss management policies. I am informed that the School District has passed a resolution adopting this recommendation and Council may wish to consider a similar resolution. In addition, the Arbitrator has recommended that the City study the effect on costs of a reduction in operating hours from 16 hours per day to 14, Perhaps this question could be referred to the Leisure Activities Committee for discussion with the Board and further report to Council, : Ge eo L.D.
