February 24th, 1975 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. on February 24th, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G. Ulmer, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, Planning Officer Lanson Lee, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Minutes - Moved by aaeian thompson: 4 Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: Feb.17/75 That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on February 17th, 1975, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: The City Clerk advised that Mrs. Bette~Anne Thompson was in attendance Mrs. B. Thompson re representing SHAFT School, which is the Human Resources School for SHAFT School } School District No. 43 held in the Ioco Elementary School. On invitation of His Worship the Mayor, Mrs. Thompson then explained that the letters in the name "SHAFT" were taken from the words "Survive", "Hope", "Attempt", "Feel", and "Trust" and that the SHAFT program is a co-ordinated alternative to school in School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) for teens, ages 14 to 16 inclusive, who have a background of some trouble with the schools, law, or their families. Mrs. Thompson advised that SHAFT School, in conjunction with the Port Moody Secondary School, is presenting the play "Revival of Godspell" at St. Andrew's Church in Port Moody, and she then presented two tickets to each member of Council to attend one of the performances being held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14th, Saturday, March 15th, Friday, March 21st, and Saturday, March 22nd. Alderman Traboulay in- quired whether there would be a charge for admission to the play, and Mrs. Thompson advised that there would be a charge in the form of a $2.00 donation for adults. Alderman Traboulay inquired how many persons could be accommodated at any one of the performances scheduled, and Mrs. Thompson advised that the capacity of the Church is between 130 and 150 persons. Mrs. Thompson then inquired whether the Council would consider giving a grant in the amount of $50.00 to SHAFT School to help with
