Van. Pack Charles Caron The Communist candidate in Vancouver East is an iron worker and plasterer by.trade, and secretary, during the war, of the Marine Workers and Boilermakers Union. Charles Caron was born of French Canadian parents and has lived in B.C. most of his life. In his present job as Vancouver Secretary of the Communist Party he has made many submissions to City Council for lower taxes, better housing, improved transit and on other civic issues. Comox-Alberni Van. South Robin Smith Robin Smith was born 23 years ago in the mining town of Britannia Beach, B.C. Daughter of a mine union organizer, she spent her early years in many mining and smelting towns. She is an office worker and takes an active part in the youth movement. She attended Vancouver's Kitsilano Secondary School, where she served on the Students’ Council. She graduated in 1963. She worked in industry for a time and knows the problems of Canada’s youth. N. He says he is in this election because he “feels the Communist platform corresponds with the real interest of our country and the people of Comox-Alberni amongst whom | live.” Robert McLaren Robert McLaren, 45, was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and came to Canada when he was five years old. He came to B.C. in 1958 and has taken an active rolé’in local and municipal affairs. He has four children and is a printer by trade. He has strongly advocated federal aid for education, federal aid to control flooding in the Fraser Valley and action on pollution.
