| ULL _ oan ee Lh to dT L ‘Increasing U.S. domination of our country is bringing disastrous results for B.C. Traditional market outlets for our lumber, fishery and farm pro- ducts are being surrendered. Our rich oil and gas, hydro-electric, mineral and pulp resources are increasingly being taken over by American interests, with the profits from their exploitation going to big U.S. war trusts. Our raw materials are being shipped to the U.S. for manu facture, often for resale to Canada at exorbitant prices. The all-sided development of the B.C. econ omy, new industries and secondary manufacturing, is being blocked. Such policies do not benefit B.C. workers and farmers, nor professional ‘and average business people. Such policies mean lower annual incomes, unemployment and bankruptcy. They are an obstacle to higher living standards and better working conditions, to needed improvements in so- cial welfare and health services, educational and re- creational facilities. There is an alternative to this betrayal of our interests. It is outlined in this plat- form, for which the candidates- of the LPP are pledged to fight. ’ Develop B.C.’s resources for its people---Provide jobs Ker Se Insist Ottawa cut the spending of —_——_ billions on armaments and use > ly «6British Columbia’s tax dollars to ‘develop our rich province, provide jobs and raise living standards.
