Deputy City Engineer SUBJECT: BOLLARD INSTALLATION ON HASTINGS ST. EAST CF GORDON MANOR (Public Works Committee Meeting - August 10, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve the installation of 10 wooden bollards along the east side of the property at 3189 Hastings St.(Gordon Manor) at a cost of $500 and that the money for this work be allocated from the 1992 Special Public Works Fund. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The Public Works Committee considered a memorandum from the Project Technician dated August 3, 1993 regarding a request (copy attached) from the manager and resident of Gordon Manor to investigate the problem she has with vehicles crossing her property. This request was previously tuned down by Concil earlier this year. However, the residents are continuing to have this problem and have requested again that the City consider addressing this situation as they are continuing to have this problem with vehicles leaving the end of Gordon Ave. and crossing her property to access Hasting St. The reverse situation also occurs. The Committee approved this request at their August 10, 1993 meeting. It is rec mended that these bollards be installed at an estimated cost of $500 to restrict vehicular access rrom Hastings St. across Gordon Manor property and that the funds be allocated from the 1993 Special Public Works Fund.
