THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: City Administrator April 3, 1987 FROM: City Engineer SUBJECT: Servicing of 1160 Yarmouth Street ~ Public Works Committee March 31, 1987 Recommendation: That a Development Variance Permit »38 Issued for 1160 Yarmouth Street to allow the construction of a park access road along the southern extension of Guest Street rather than building Guest Street to its full width and standard required by the subdivision bylaw. Backqround and Comments: Guest Street borders on the above property and would normally be required to be constructed under the subdivision bylaw to full street standards. Guest Street Is not necessary for the service of properties other than the newly acquired City park. The attached sketch shows the propased subdiviston plan which wil! Incorporate al! the properties south of 1160 Yarmouth. The Parks and Recreation Director does not feel It necessary to have a full width street -with curb and gutter as access into the park. The park wiil be used mainty by local residents and at the most will have parking for a few cars. A paved two lane 6 m wide road without curb and gutter would be sufficient to provide access Into the park. ln order to aliow the subdivider to bulld this road to a lesser standard, a Development Varlance Permit must be issued by City Council.
