A Memorial Service was held in: Terrace at MacKay’s Funeral Chapel on July 12, 2003. Slim was born and raised In Terrace, he worked for several sawmills and logging companies in the area. In 1956 he married Verna Barnett, and by 1961 had 3 Many of their summers were spent at Lakelse Lake where they made their permanent home in 1964. ; In 1974 the family moved to and built a homestead on the banks of the Stikine River, in Northern B.C. Slim trapped in the winter, and worked for mining exploration camps and hunting guides in the summer. Slim spent the rest of his days in the Yukon and Northern B.C. where he worked for gold mining companies until his retirement in 1997, At that time, he took life a Little easier, and traveled the province seeing sights he had only read about. He enjoyed Au . fishing, hunting, music and the internet. Slim was predeceased by his father, W.L. “Slim” Jordan and his mother G.W. “Blackie” McConnell. He iasurvived by his sons, Cal (Cathy) of Winfield, B.C,, Gerry (Claudia) of Lima, Peru, daughter Kathie Young (Gary) of Chetwynd, B.C, 2 granddaughters, Ashley & Kendal Young also of Chetwynd, B.C., Sister Josephine Sandhals (Widar}, many nieces & nephews, former wife and friend Verna Jordan and special frlend and companion Nichole Standal.
