Secondly, we request that your Council consider providing a cash
grant to the Symphony Society. This could be used to offset
expenses of activities in your community, but even if we are not
able to visit your particular community we hope you will make a
direct contribution ts the revitalization of the Symphony. Our
market surveys show that the Symphony has atrong support and
regular subscribers from throughout the Lower Mainland. Fifty-
two percent of our subscribers come from outside the city of
Vancouver. Vancouver provides us with grants and rental
allowances of approximately $500,000. Our goal is to receive
$150,000 this year from surrounding municipalities. We ask that

your community contribute $5,000.00
