The Inaugural Ceremonies and Statutory Meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam were held in the Gymnasium of the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, 1379 Laurier Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on December 8th, 1980, at 8:00 p.m. His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking, Aldermen M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, Mabbett, A.K. Muldoon, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer LL.B. Pollock, Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Assistant Engineer L. Melnechenko, P. Eng., City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Chief W.S. Wingrove, Deputy Fire Chief J.N. Boileau, City Planner L. Lee, Recreation Director K.J. Taylor, Works & Utilities Superintendent G.W. Ulmer and Mrs. D.L. Vyse. Mr. J. Barbush and his choir from James Park Elementary School sang "0' Canada". . Dedicatory DEDICATORY PRAYER: Prayer Father A.R. Edwards offered a Dedicatory Prayer for the Council. STATUTORY DECLARATIONS: Statutory His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking introduced Provincial Court Judge Declarations L.P. Clare and then called upon Judge Clare to receive the required Statutory Declarations and administer the Oath of Allegiance to: Ann Kathleen Muldoon Alderman Michael Ronald Wright Alderman who ther. officially took their places as Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. Incumbent Aldermen L.M. Traboulay was unavoidably absent from the Inaugural Meeting and wil receive the required Statutory Declaration and Oath of All.,:.nce upon his return. Mayor Laking then called the Statutory Meeting to order.
