Lee Re: Public Information Meeting on Proposed Rezoning from RS-2 to RS-1 for a i4-lot Subdivision The above meeting was held at the Cedar Drive School on May 4th, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was chaired by Alderman Laking. About 20 residents attended the meeting. Also in attendance were Mr. LL.D. Pollock, Mr. R.A. Freeman, Mr. V.G. Borch, Mr. L. Lee, Mr. R. Ingram of School District No. 43 and the developer, Mr. McDaniel. Alderman Traboulay was also among the audience. The Chairman opened the meeting by stating that the land in question is the last piece of undeveloped land at Prairie Avenue between Regina Street and Cedar Drive and that if rezoning is approved, 14 lots would be created. The developer was then asked to explain his proposed development. The City Engineer was called on to describe the extent of servicing and engineering works the developer is required to complete. Questions and comments from the audience were as follows: 1. Concern about removal of Mature trees on the lane allowance. 2. Concern about noise of equipments late in the evening. One resident complained about noise and abuse by the construction crews during the development of the Regina Street Subdivision by the same developer. However, the developer assured that he would see that these would not occur again. 3. One resident who has his house between Prairie Avenue and the lane planned within the proposed subdivision was concerned that his access would be restricted to the lane only in the future whereby he has to contruct another driveway from his carport to the lane.’ a 4. Questions were raised as to whether the City would be completing the section of Regina Street leading to the Hyde Creek Centre. 5. A great deal of concern was expressed about school accommodation. However, Mr. Ingram of School District No. 43 J2.eee
