REQUEST FOR PARKING SOLUTION-COAST AT DAVID HUNTER

Install two "No Parking" signs on the west side of Coast Meridian Rd. along the property of
1525 Lougheed Hwy. ($216) and,

Paint a dashed white line to. delineate left-turn and right-turn lanes for southbound Coast traffic
($300).

Attached is a memo from Councillor Gates requesting that the Engineering Dept. investigate the |
possibility of restricting parking along the west side of Coast at David Hunter.

‘Councillor Gates is concemed that cars making left-hand tamms onto Lougheed from Coast
obstruct right-turn movements onto: Lougheed. This problem is further compounded by the cars
parked in the curb lane on Coast (west side).

Presently there is unrestricted parking on the west side of Coast from Lougheed-Meridian Rd. to.
the Lougheed Hwy. Pavement width is 14m wide for Coast. This leaves the southbound lane
with the ability to accommodate two travel lanes; one for left-turn/through and one for right-tum
movements. - 7

1): Install only "No Parking" signs on the west side of Coast. This will free up a lane for |
right-tum movements. However, while it is common practice for motorists to go around

vehicles stopped to make left-hand turns, it is not legal to do.so unless the road is physically ;

marked as two lanes. . |
