NOTES J VOLUNTEER TASKS FOR MADE BY HAND '85 (July). As is true for all projects of the CABC, Made by Hand exists only due to time spent by volunteers. The entry fee of $25 nty seem like a lot, but when only 115 people enter, the total barely covers the costs of jurors, publicity and other printing, and a little exhibition equipment. There is no money to hire any helping hands - so anyone with a few hours to give is most welcome. The times and jobs will be assigned on a first come, first served basis, so eigen up early for the best choice of jobs and times. So whether you are an exhibitor or not, call the CABC and a job assignment will be reserved for you. GREENBARN POTTERS SUPPLY LTD. has received a booklet enmlled "Measurement of Emissions from Electri Furnaces luring Ceramic Firing". It eontains the results cf a very esrefully condueted series of tests of bisque and low fire plazes. The results indicate that carbon monoxide and possibly sulphur in the bisque fire as the only elements that exceed the TLV (Threshold Limit Values), and simply having an open window in the vicinity is sufficient to remedy this. Copies of this report can be obtained from "Kiln Teats", F.0. Box 22302, Indiana- palis, IN 46222 for $2.00 each. It contains 11 pages of comment, tables and graphs.
