[ Bepuruorx a THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM BYLAW NO. 902 CONSOLIDATED FOR CONVENIENCE ONLY A Bylaw to provide regulations for the prevention of fires. The Municipal Counci], of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: INTERPRETATION In this bylaw, unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions shall have the meanings hereinafter assigned to them, that is to say: (1) “Approved” shall mean approved by an Officer of the Fire Department to The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. (2) “Authority having jurisdiction” shall mean the “Fire Chief” or “Officer” aa defined in this Bylaw. (3) “City” shall mean The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. (4) “Council” shall mean the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. (5) “Explosive” shall mean gunpowder, nitroglycerin, gun cotton, dynamite, blasting gelatin, gelinite, fulminate of mercury, or other metals, colored fires, and every other substance whether chemical compound or mechanical mixture, used or manufactured with a view to produce a violent effect by explosion, or a pyrotechnic effect, and shall include fireworks, fuses, rockets, percussion caps, detonators, cartridges, ammunitioa of all descriptions, and every other adaption or preparation of an explosive, as above defined. (6) “Fire Chief” shall mean a person appointed from time to time by the Municipal Council to be in charge of the Fire Department and the firefighting personnel of the City of Port Coquitlam. (7) “Garage” shall mean and include a building, or any portion of any place or premises used as a place of business for the purpose of placing, keeping repairing or demolishing one or more motor vehicles. (8) "Gas Station” shall mean and include any portion of any place or premises in or upon which gasoline is kept for sale. (9) “Hotel” includes apartment-hcuse, boarding-house, lodging-house, club, and any building where lodging is provided other than a private dwellinghouse. (10) “Occupant” includes owner, tenant, lessee, agent, licensee, and any other person who has the right of access to and control of eny land, building or premises to which any of the pr ions of this bylaw apply.
