November 3, 1079 Aldermin P. Ranger Deputy Chairmen, Leisure Activities Committee Cornoration of the City of Port Coquitlam 2272 McAllister Port Coquitlam, B. C. V3C 2A8 Deer sir: We have, as you will see, 86 names on our petition, including all but one of the people whose houses front’on Suh Valley Park. And, due to illness in one case and the death of a close friend in an- other, we have only been able to cover half of the residents in the area. We hope these signatures are sufficient. Several interesting things ceme to light: a) Only 5 people refused to sign. b) All but 9 or 10 have children under the age of three at home, and at least two of those 9 or 10 look after preschool age children on a reguler basis. ec) There h=s been a serious injury on that tarmack., The Gibsons’ (number 22 on our list) little boy fell lest spring and was in the hospital for some time. After 18 months, the doctors think that he has suffered no permanent damage. . Many, many people asked "What exactly is hanvening with the park on Cedar and Lombardy?" Is it the city's proverty? Is it New West's? What exactly is going into that park? (But that is another can of worms best left closed for the moment. At least until we get Sun Valley Park taken cere of) Pegsy and I would like to thenk you for your interest and suprort, Yours sincerely, hae Pruittces Karen Phillips 1043 Maywood ave.
