Vesla. Douglas began the evening with the ringing of an old ‘school handbell. Several retiring staff were recognized by their principals and liaison trustees. Sybille Ginka, a custodian at Thornhill Junior Secondary, received a plaque outlining her 23 years of outstanding ser- vice as a custodian in district schools. Evelyn Pousette, librarian at Thornhill Elementary and Pri- Inary, received a plaque for her 32 years of service as a _ teacher in B.C. Other retiring staff include: E.T. Kenney teacher Raosalina Ascuncion, retiring Stewart Secondary principal Dave Richardson, and retiring Stewart Elementary principal Paddy Richardson. Frank Hamilton, Superinten- dent of Schools gave the open-. ing welcome and introduced execulive members of the em- ployee groups. Stew Chrisienscn presented letters of cormmendation and School District 20 Pins to those present.
