Conventions and Travel Policy
Finasee and Intergovermmental Affairs Committees Meeting ~ June 11/92

That City Council approve the following proposed policies:

1. That the Mayor and two Aldermen attend future anmial Federation of
Canadian Municipalities conventions;

2, That attendance at Union of British Columbla Municipalities
conventions be open to all Council members; and

‘That the attached proposed Travel Expense Policy be adopted.

The Finance and intergovernmental Affairs Committee reviewed concerns raised
by citizens regarding the recent Federation of Canadian Municipalities
convention and is recommending the changes in our present policies.

The major areas of change in the proposed Travel Expense Policy are:

1. No expenses incurred by or on behalf of spouses will be reimbursed ;

20 A requirenent that receipts for all expenses be subnaitted.

3. A reduction in the maximum daily expenses which are permitted to be
reimbursed without specific Council approval.
