SUBJECT: Proposed Senior Citizen Expansion.

1) That the Treasurer be authorized to apply for a grant from the Province
towards construction of the addition to the Wilson Centre.

2) That the Parks and Recreation Committee be authorized to proceed with
tendering for Phase I of the expansion.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

It appears that there may be some Provincial funding available through che
lotteries fund, passage of the first resolution will enable the Treasurer
to apply for these funds. The Treasurer will be applying for a grant of
one third of the cost, based on a total cost of $750,000.00.

The second resolution will authorize tendering of the project and should be
done prior to retaining the Architects for supervision of construction. It
is expected that the Architects will be coming to Council with construction

drawings for approval in the next three or four weeks.
